Today, we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Kerry Lynn Jackson, a beloved son, husband, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and cherished member of our community. Kerry's journey on this earth though too brief, has left an indelible mark that will be remembered for generations to come.
Born on Monday, January 23, 1984, Kerry's bright spirit was evident from the start. Affectionately known as in his childhood, Kerry's kindness and gentle nature brought joy to everyone he encountered. Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, he was a beacon of light, spreading warmth and happiness wherever he went.
Kerry's early years were filled with love and laughter, often found spending time with family and friends or indulging in his passion for dance. His vibrant and creative soul was reflected in his love for fashion, a talent he showcased with style and flair. Summers were often spent at Six Flags, creating memories that would last a lifetime, and enjoying the company of his cousins in The Peach Creek Community under a shade tree living life to the fullest.
He graduated from North Crowley High School in 2002, where he left an indelible mark on his classmates and friends that endured into adulthood. Kerry's talent extended to athletics, where he excelled on the track field, inspiring those around him with his determination and perseverance. He furthered his education by attending, The University of Texas at San Antonio and The Art Institute of Houston, Texas.
Our beloved Kerry preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Earsline Waites; two aunts, Evelyn Waites and Pamela Ette; one uncle, Arthur Jackson, Jr.; one brother Tyron Turner.
In his professional life, Kerry found his true calling in real estate, earning the affectionate title "Realtor With Style." His dedication and passion for his career led him to Atlanta, where he not only advanced his profession but also met the love of his life, Kevin Funchess. Their bond culminated in marriage on March 31, 2023, under the enchanting city lights of Atlanta, marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter filled with love, travel, and shared dreams.
Kerry's legacy is one of compassion, kindness, and an unwavering ability to make others feel welcomed and loved. His laughter was a melody that brought joy to all who knew him, and his presence lit up every room. The memory of his love and light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
